Haha, IKK. Not a doctor at all! As a matter of fact, I was just videoing, not injecting. Leave that to the experienced professionals. PM me on Malaysian board if you wanna know who..

Had already tried 0.3% salt treatment, in case it was a simple case of osmotic imbalance, but it did not help at all. This tancho has a decent appetite but it isn’t necessarily the biggest eater in my pond. None of my other koi have “pop eyes”. I feed only moderately, between 0.5% and 0.8% of body weight during the “growth months” (we have eternal summer where I live).

My ginrin tancho kohaku has “pop-eye” syndrome. Unlikely dropsy since her scales are normal (no pineconing). Some other internal problem. Nika Transmore was used to sedate the fish. Takes 5-10 minutes before the koi is sedated enough for the injection to be done. Injected 1ml (1cc) of Ciprobay into the muscle under EACH of her pectoral fins. Ciprobay is a wide-spectrum antibiotic recommended by Kentaro Sakai. The koi was swimming normally about 10 minutes after being released back into the pond.
