I usually avoid tanning while on antibiotics because I have burned before and sometimes it makes me feel sick afterwards. I would not risk it if i were you. Plus, antibiotics stay in your system for a while even after you are finished taking them, so I would wait even a week after your meds are finished to go tanning. That is unless you are on these antibiotics constantly, then I would just use a self-tanner.

I usually do not burn but when I was on one of the stronger antibiotics I did get sunburn and I wasn’t even trying to tan!
I would recommend that you do not do any tanning.

I am currently taking Doxycycline, and I highly suggest you don’t tan. My experience when being in the sun is the burning sensation on my skin. My skin won’t be burned, but even a little bit of sun exposure makes my skin feel like it’s burning. I don’t like the feeling. In the warm months while being outside doing yard work, I’ll even wear gloves. My hands will otherwise have that irritating burning feeling.
The doctor made it very clear to be careful with exposure to rays. I’d take it seriously.
