Do antibiotics interfere with the efficacy of birth control pills even after you stop taking the antibiotics?

I would think so, but I wanted to be sure.
I am wondering if you take them, get your period, and then start taking the birth control pills again, if the antibiotics have lingering effects the following months?? Thank you.

From my understanding, you will need another type of birth control for the entire month,.

yes they could stay in your system for up to 2 weeks after you stop using them. i would use a back up plan for the BC this month.

The effect can last for a couple of weeks after you’ve stopped taking the antibiotics. I’d suggest using a backup method of birth control (condoms, foam, etc.) for a couple of weeks just to be on the safe side. After 2 weeks or so, the antibiotic should be completely out of your system, but keep in mind that birth control pills are never 100% effective, regardless of any other meds you’re taking.
