I have an eye infection but the eye doctor didn't think it was necessary for him to give me antibiotic eye drops. Meanwhile, my eye continues causing me pain, especially in air conditioning.

Only a dr. or nurse practitioner can prescribe antibiotic eye drops. You need to see someone ASAP, especially since it’s starting to hurt. You don’t want to lose your sight.

Call your family doctor and tell them you have pink eye, they should call in a prescription to your pharmacy. From recent experience, the office says the doctor doesn’t need to see you over this. Over the counter pink eye medicine only takes away the burn and itching, but will not heal the infection.

It’s because you probably have conjustivitis that is not bacterial or viral, it’s probably allergic. Go to a pharmacy and get over the counter eye drops called Opcon-A that will help your problem.
