Is it good to take antibiotic for pimples?

i've heard that the antibiotics would kill both good and bad bacteria in our body. and if we stop taking the antibiotic, pimples would come back. thus, once the antibiotic is taken, i would have to take it constantly. i'm desperate to get rid of my pimples and my friend recommeneded me to see a skin doctor and he/she will give me antibiotics. will it be good?

Yes, it will work, but you’ll have to keep taking them for quite a while (a year or so). I used to have terrible acne before I took Tetracycline (sp?), but it nearly went away completely afterwards. It came back partially after a while, but, with sensible skin care, it’s quite manageable.
Antibiotics are for serious and very stubborn acne, though. I don’t know what you’ll be taking, but I had to take Tetracycline with two cups of water, first thing in the morning and on an empty stomach that had to stay empty for a while. Try prescription creams before you go for antibiotics.

DONT USE ANTIBIOTICS> i used them for a while and now i have an overgrowth of candida in my gut, and i am on an intense and very depressing anticandida (low carb/sugar) cleanse as i write this warning to you. if you are a teenager dont worry they will go away on their own, just have patience, dont compromise your health. and if you are over 20yrs then it is a sign of an internal health issue which u should fix, not ignore by a quick unhealthy (and remember - temporary) fix with antibiotics.

The strange thing about pimples and antibiotics is that most of the time, taking antibiotics aggravates acne, but doctors actually prescribe an antibiotic such as tetracycline (just for a certain period of time) for people who have severe acne.
There are also other treatments for acne that a dermatologist (skin doctor) may recommend, depending on your medical history and the severity of your acne.
Talk to a dermatologist. I hope you are able to find a treatment that works well for you. I had severe acne when I was a teenager, so I know how frustrating it can be. I also take antibiotics daily for other issues, so even though my skin is much better now than it used to be, I will always have some pimples. (I found out about the relationship between antibiotics and acne 20 yrs ago, when I asked my doctor when my acne would go away. I am now 35.)
