Ive been on anitbiotics for soo long now and have gone through i dont even know how many kinds and nothing seems to be working! The latest ones the dermatoligist gave me is tazorac at night, duac in the morning, brevoxyl wash for morning and night and im on minocyline pills. Doesnt this seem like a bit much to stilll have acne? My acne isnt even that bad but I just have a lot of little pimples and my face is always realllly red. Anyone else been on antibiotics or know anything about them and whyy it is not working for me? Oh and also does anyone know how to get rid of the overall redness in my face?

Thanks for any knowledge you can share Thanks everyone. I understand a lot better now. I've always wondered how they work when they enter your body. Now I see there are many kinds that work on certain groups like some for respiratory infections, some anti-fungal, etc. I've taken antibiotics before and I do remember that finishing the prescribed amount of pills was really stressed by the doc.

I am on doxycycline for a staff infection for 30 days (i am immunocompromised and can't seem to be able to fight it with only 10 days of antibiotics.) But this antibiotic makes my bc (nuvaring) less effective. I want to know how long the antibiotic will stay in my system so that i know when my bc will begin to become fully effective again.
