How long does the effect last? Is it only during the time you take the antibiotics?

I would think so, but I wanted to be sure.
I am wondering if you take them, get your period, and then start taking the birth control pills again, if the antibiotics have lingering effects the following months?? Thank you.

I am currently on a birth control pill. If I just recently had intercourse, how long do I need to wait before starting on antibiotics? I know that antibiotics negate birth control pills so will there be a chance of pregnancy if I take antibiotic pills the day after having intercourse?

I have a bad case of strep throat. I got a perscription of antibiotics, plus 3 steroid pills I had to take all at once to make the swelling go down. I also am taking birth control pills. The doc says to take 3 antibiotic pills a day, morning, noon, and night. And they are kind of big pills. I'm really worried about getting a yeast infection. How likely is it that I will get one because of all these meds? What can I do to try and prevent this? Any tips?
By the way, I've never had a yeast infection before. That probably explains why I'm so nervous about getting one. My doc said that it is possible that I might get one because of all of my medications and if I do, to call and get Diflucan.

I was on antibiotics (levaquin) after a surgery. I know they can negate the effects of birth control pills (ortho tri cyclen lo). How long can they interfere with the bc pills? I took the levaquin on my cycle week and then started my pills as normal. Would they still interfere?

The ESKAPE pathogens—as these six bad bugs have been dubbed—are still on the loose more than four years after the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) first drew attention to the growing shortage of effective antibiotics. As the crisis of antibiotic resistance continues to grow, the latest IDSA "Bad Bugs, No Drugs" report examines the trickle of Continue reading
